U.S. President Donald Trump hinted Tuesday that the United States may use military force against North Korea if necessary, after Pyongyang warned that an end-of-year deadline for the two countries' denuclearization negotiations is drawing near.

North Korea said Tuesday that a year-end deadline is drawing near for the United States to come up with a new proposal in their nuclear negotiations, warning it is entirely up to Washington what "Christmas gift" it wants to get.
North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Ri Thae-song issued the warning, saying Pyongyang has tried hard "not to backtrack from the important steps it has taken," referring to a moratorium on nuclear and long-range missile tests and other measures it has taken to demonstrate its commitment to denuclearization.

U.S. reconnaissance aircraft again flew over the Korean Peninsula, an aviation tracker said Tuesday, the latest in a series of near-daily flights to monitor North Korea amid concerns Pyongyang could undertake additional provocations after last week's rocket firings.

That reads to me just Trump's standard generic threat. Not a specific warning that any military action is being planned.krzepice1976 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 9:24 pmU.S. President Donald Trump hinted Tuesday that the United States may use military force against North Korea if necessary, after Pyongyang warned that an end-of-year deadline for the two countries' denuclearization negotiations is drawing near.

Just get it over with and start the war. IF not then leave North Korea alone and announce them a official nuclear state drop all the sanctions.
If people say we can't drop the sanctions by how DPRK treats its own people.... Then almost half the countries in the world should have sanctions cuz I can list 12 different countries right off the bat that treats their people worse than North Korea OR just as bad.
But that's all wishful thinking because geopolitics is more complicated than a Rubik's cube times 50.

Other countries aren't sitting on trillions of dollars of rare-earth metals just waiting for capitalists to snag once DPRK has been "liberated."KimPossible wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 7:15 amJust get it over with and start the war. The US isn't going to "liberate" North Korea and they know it. China has North Korea in its sites, but North Korea doesn't even trust them.RiffRaff wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 3:08 pmOther countries aren't sitting on trillions of dollars of rare-earth metals just waiting for capitalists to snag once DPRK has been "liberated."KimPossible wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 7:15 amJust get it over with and start the war. I mean I've been lisening and watching about this for decades. Isn't it about time to duke it out or say what already is... That's DPRK is a nuclear state and we failed to prevent that and admit defeat.

I don't think there's any debate on whether or not DPRK is a nuclear power. They've publicly declared it and backed up their claim with underground tests. We know they have approximately 10 to 20 nuclear weapons. The debate is about their ability to effectively and accurately deliver those weapons to their designated targets, and therefore, how big of a nuclear threat they are in practice at the moment.
And it's never time to admit defeat. South Africa developed nuclear weapons and then voluntarily dismantled their nuclear program, along with all of the weapons they had built. Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan also voluntarily gave up their nuclear weapons when the Soviet Union collapsed.
