The United States has not moved to create a joint working group to assess its concerns regarding Turkey's purchase of the Russian S-400 missile defense systems, the head of the Turkish Defense Industries Directorate said on June 10.

The two NATO allies have sparred publicly for months over Turkey's order for the S-400s, which are not compatible with the transatlantic alliance's systems.

Washington says the S-400s pose a threat to the Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 fighters and has warned of potential U.S. sanctions if Ankara presses on with the deal.

Turkey, one of the core partners in the F-35 programme and a prospective buyer, has said the S-400s will not impact the jets and has proposed to Washington forming a joint working group to assess U.S. concerns.

Speaking to reporters after an event in Ankara, İsmail Demir, who heads the state defense industry institution, said Turkey was ready to discuss Washington's concerns.

"If the source of the concerns is a technical worry stemming from the S-400s being located in Turkey, we have said repeatedly that we are ready to discuss this," Demir said.

Rift over S-400 purchase deepens. Acting U.S. Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan warned his Turkish counterpart in a letter last week the U.S. could levy sanctions under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act, or CAATSA, over Ankara’s decision to move forward with the contentious purchase of a Russian missile system that U.S. officials say threatens the F-35 fighter jet.
Turkish F-35 pilot training halted.

Just tell them to pound sand and scrap the sale of F-35’s

It’s clearly a national security issues and even without the S-400 purchase Turkeys integrity as a trusted partener in NATO is long gone.
It’s unfortunate and they were an important Allie but Erdogen is no more trustworthy than the DPRK or IRG.

Turkey has been in Russia's orbit for a few years now. Russia will eventually take the oil/ME countries by soft occupation, Turkey will eventually be kicked out of NATO. Write em off now, it'll be easier for us in the short and long term.

I doubt any Middle East contry would allow Russian occupation troops. I can only see it as a dream scenario for Russia, not happening in the real world though.

The U.S. is hoping that someone will take out Erdogan and restore Turkey back to a secular society over the radical Islamic one it is today so they can be a reliable NATO partner again. In the meantime they need to be kicked out of NATO and barred from any military purchases. Putin has grander ideas for Turkey. Putin wants the entire nation brought back under Russian control and have its capital named Constantinople again under a Christian banner.

Noahs Ark sits in Turkey for God sakes. It was spotted on Mt, Ararat by a Turkish pilot who was spying on Russian missile sites near the border. After many expeditions it has been proved to be the real thing and the pilot who first spotted it was brought to tears when he was shown without a shadow of a doubt that his discovery was real by Dr. Ron Wyatt and his team using mapping with metal detectors and ground penetrating radar. It was after that the Turkish government paved the road to the site and named it ARK road.

You know if the government of Turkey says its Noahs Ark and admits the American team of Ron Wyatt did all the hard work it is very real. They would never risk being embarrassed on a international level like this. It has been buried in a volcanic mudslide after first being spotted by the Turkish pilot and American Intel photo specialist, then frozen in deep ice and snow only then to be exposed by a earthquake so much that they could enter the massive structure then yes, God wanted it and the only thing stopping it from being listed on the UN world heritage site is Erdogan, the guy is a nut and needs to be dealt with.

Don't listen to all the Dis information on the web. They went inside the huge ship when the ice thawed enough and took pics and video of the WW2 aircraft carrier size boat made out of wood and ancient stainless steel bolts. Yep they had figured out how to make stainless way back then.

Its no longer a Conspiracy theory. Its a fact that most of the world hates and loves to hide.

The language used in a letter sent from Washington to Ankara regarding Turkey's removal from the F-35 fighter jet program does not suit the spirit of alliance, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said on June 12.

U.S. acting Secretary of Defence Patrick Shanahan's letter to his counterpart had outlined how Turkey would be pulled out of the F-35 fighter jet program unless Ankara changes course from its plans to purchase a Russian missile defence system.

Akar, cited by the defense ministry in a statement, also said Turkey is preparing a response to the letter and that it would be sent to the U.S. in the coming days. He added that he would hold a phone call with Shanahan on June 13.

Turkey has already bought S-400 defence systems from Russia and hopes they will be delivered in July, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday, an announcement likely to ratchet up tensions with Washington on the issue.

"Turkey has already bought S-400 defence systems. It is a done deal. I hope these systems will be delivered to our country next month," Erdogan said.

And while I don't doubt any of that, I think that Putin pulling off this stunt that he's a Christian is just that, a stunt. He's a gangster and knows how to manipulate people, he does so for political purpose, he's old school KGB for crying out loud. Turkey is a lost cause, I think they're still in NATO so they can funnel information to the Russian Federation. I wouldn't be surprised if the Saudi's follow suit. Right now, the ME is fertile ground for them. The Iranians are on their side, Iraq is essentially an extension of Iran, the Russians are in Afghanistan, they've wooed Turkey to their side, they've taken notice from the Saudi's. Their politics in the Balkans is also interesting, and now they're making moves in the ME, this is significant.
