The Pakistan Navy on Tuesday claimed it had thwarted an attempt by an Indian submarine to enter the country’s territorial waters.

The report comes after tensions flared up between the two nuclear-armed neighbours following a terror attack claimed by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed in Kashmir’s Pulwama district on February 14.

The Pakistan Navy also shared a footage with the media, which it said was “actual”. The image showed that the footage was made at 2035 hours on March 4.

“The Pakistan Navy used its specialised skills to ward off the submarine, successfully keeping it from entering Pakistani waters,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

The Indian submarine was not deliberately targeted by Pakistan, to give peace a chance, the spokesperson said.

An Indian submarine doesn't have to be in Pakistani territorial waters to fire its missiles at Pakistani land targets. Even their short-range SLBMs have a range of 700 km or so. So if there really was an Indian sub there, what was its mission?

Pakistan has laid bare a joint plan by India and Israel to target its nuclear facilities ostensibly on the pretext of anti-terror war in the wake of Pulwama attack. As tension between Pakistan and India lingers on, official reports by the government of Pakistan confirm that India and Israel were ready for a joint attack against Pakistan, however, the threat of retaliation and active vigilance staved off the strike a few days ago.Multiple journalists in Pakistan, while quoting official sources and meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan have revealed that the joint plan was thwarted due to the contact between the spy agencies of the South-Asian countries and threat of retaliation by the armed forces of Pakistan.
High-level sources have informed us that there was a plan to attack 7-8 places in Pakistan from a base in Rajasthan, India. Pakistan had learnt that Israel was helping India in this plan and this was a joint plan of these countries,” Veteran journalist Hamid Mir revealed on Monday.
Official sources also revealed that India was planning a second attack with missiles, however, Pakistan had sent a message to India indirectly that if there was an attack there would be a strong response.

There was also contact on the night of February 27-28, Mir said and added that initially Saudi Arabia, Turkey and US were involved to defuse the tension, however, over the last two days, British Prime Minister Theresa May played a crucial role for detente.

India will have “all options” available in case there is another terror strike, official sources on March 5 asserted and maintained that the government will insist on concrete steps taken by Pakistan in dismantling the terror infrastructure on its soil.

The sources said India had shared with the U.S. the evidence of use of the F-16 jet by Pakistan during the retaliatory Indian airspace violation by and was confident that the U.S. was investigating the matter. Since the Balakot Indian Air Force strike, India was trying to build maximum pressure on Pakistan on terrorism, sources said.

The Indian Air Force kept all its bases in the Western sector on maximum alert, the sources said.

The BS level coming from Pakistan is astounding.

I'm surprised they didn't announce the cure to every disease as well.

The Israeli involvement might be BS, but Pakistan was definitely preparing for a major strike that night. They knew something was coming, and there were rumors of the Indian navy approaching Pakistan, possibly to participate in a missile launch against the port at Karachi.

Pakistan has used heavy artillery guns to target military and civilian areas, the Indian Army said on Wednesday, warning that any “misadventure” will get a response in a fitting manner with “dire consequences.”

“In the last 24 hours, Pakistan resorted to intense and unprovoked firing with heavy calibre weapons including heavy artillery guns in selected areas along the Line of Control (LoC) targeting Army posts and civilian areas,” the Army said in a statement.

The Army said it “effectively retaliated” and there were no casualties on the Indian side.

“Pakistan used 155mm artillery guns in the Naushera sector,” a defence source said. Small arms and light mortars are routinely used by both sides in cross-border firing, but use of heavy artillery is a sign of escalation

India’s air strike on the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Balakot in Pakistan last month crossed a strategic red line and called Pakistan’s nuclear bluff.

It forced Pakistan to shut its entire air space for days, use its air force to try and target India, exchange fire on land and send its entire navy out on patrols for more than a week after the strikes.

Exclusive satellite images accessed by ThePrint also show that there was some activity at Pakistan’s nuclear weapons storage and launch facilities in the aftermath of the 26 February strike on Balakot.
