President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko suggested not to call Russia a brotherly state, since relations between the two countries began to be perceived differently. He stated this at a meeting on topical issues of cooperation with Moscow.

At the meeting, Lukashenka noted that Russia is a key external partner for Belarus.

“I don’t say a brotherly state, because, as I am informed, in Russia it is not perceived,” the president said. - Allegedly, new people came to whom this concept is unacceptable. Well, let's be partners. ”

“Many agreements have been signed both at the Supreme State Council, and at the Federal Council of Ministers, and bilaterally. Unfortunately, as I often say, they are not all fulfilled, ”Lukashenka noted.
He rejected all the proposals of Belarus about gas prices and compensation for the tax maneuver. According to Lukashenko, at the upcoming talks in Moscow, the parties must answer "the question why the decision taken by the two presidents was not implemented this year."

On December 25, Alexander Lukashenko will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. As stated in the Kremlin, the themes of the meeting will be bilateral relations.

Minsk is trying to get compensation from Moscow for the tax maneuver in the oil sector: the authorities of Belarus have announced more than $ 300 million. First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov claims that the Kremlin has not made any promises to Belarus.

Russia has always fulfilled all its agreements with Belarus, provided it with hidden subsidies and direct loans, but a neighbor and ally only wants unilateral benefits, First Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister of Russia Anton Siluanov told reporters.

“We say: one cannot be one-sided, the benefits are one-sided. You are our neighbor, our ally in the Union Treaty, but lately trust has been lost, ”Siluanov said.He reminded about “all these solvents”, the sanction that goes to Russia through Belarus, excisable goods - “low-grade cigarettes”, which also illegally enter the Russian market from Belarus.Several years ago, the Russian side accused Minsk of re-exporting petroleum products derived from Russian oil under the guise of solvents and thinners. Russia supplies oil and petroleum products to Belarus duty-free, but Minsk was obliged to transfer the duty on the export of petroleum products outside the Customs Union to the Russian budget. Thinners and solvents were not included in the list of products subject to duty.

Most of the illegal cigarettes from Belarus go to Russia, in annual terms, physical volumes make up about 5.5 billion pieces, and in the border regions - in the Bryansk and Smolensk regions - the share of such cigarettes is 21% in total sales, wrote in May this year portal "Belarusian News" (Naviny.by).

Relations should be equally beneficial, “we are not so brothers to [give] all our subsidies,” Siluanov explained. “We have a lack of confidence in the work of your customs. Let our customs officers then work together with yours, let's arrange data exchange, ”the vice-premier suggested.

Vladimir Putin had a meeting with President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who is in Russia on a working visit. The discussion focused on key issues of bilateral cooperation.
Indeed, we keep our word. We agreed at our meeting in St Petersburg not to make a mess of our talks, because we had too much on the agenda and there were very many people involved. We agreed to resume our conversation in Moscow.

We are grateful to you for choosing the time for our meeting here to discuss the issues we need to discuss in light of the many problems in our relations, which, to tell the truth, are very advanced and close. No other peoples have closer relations than Belarusians and Russians.

We are moving forward, just as we agreed. It is natural that we encounter certain problems on our way, but they are incomparable to our achievements, which we have enumerated in figures. And you have said just now that we can come to an agreement.
