To summarize it, he basically said "If Russia doesn't stop bombing Syria, it will cause problems for Russia"
He didn't mean it as a direct threat, more like Russia wasting its military potential on Syria

From what I can tell, it sounds like this was more a matter of Kirby stating that a lack of cooperation would result in the emboldening of terrorists (and animosity toward Russia) and that these terrorists would be more likely to strike at Russia. I'm certain he chose those words carefully, though, so that they could be read either way, and I can see how Moscow would read them in a different light, that the West would use terrorists against Russia.

edit: pnitro summarized it well.

Uhh... that doesn't sound too good.
The release of atomic energy has not created a new problem. It has merely made more urgent the necessity of solving an existing one.

in our point it's look like. "if you will continue... some bad guys will do bad things with your mans and civilians." Sound like Kirby can give order to these bad guys. it's look like speech of evil bearded man somewhere in wastelands. but it's official face of US diplomacy. it's scary.

by the way. Russian MoD answer:
about that we say following (Kirby speech): we know currently positions of all "out of the public eye specialists" who engaged in operational activities, and the leadership of militants in Syria and in Aleppo in particular"

Yep, understand why you would see it that way. Our government is not making smart moves right now, to say the least.

Extremists from Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (previously al-Nusra) called for "a fight with the Americans" and burnt several Free Syrian Army (FSA) flags, according to al-Mayadeen.The channel then went onto claim that the US troops caused tensions between Fatah al-Sham and the FSA.

These claims cannot be independently verified by al-Masdar at this moment.
Fatah al-Sham is an satellite organization of al-Nusra which is a satellite organization of al-Qaeda in the same way that ISIS is an offshoot of al-Qaeda. al-Sham also happens to be aligned to the Free Syrian Army, which both the United States and Turkey are also aligned with. Fatah al-Sham is America's ally once-removed, thus a cousin of the coalition.

So, I suppose this event may then signify al-Sham turning on its indirect patrons in America. Certainly this must be how Russia perceives the situation, considering they've made it very clearly that they're confident in that assessment.

I'm still confused within the past week our entire government has gone from being a kid with small muscles to being a big man showing massive muscles.

Like just now we are threatening Russia with a strong stance. We are a few years late IMO

It makes you wonder if there was any credence to those rumors of something major happening behind the scenes, beyond the obvious strike and counterstrike that we saw.

Similar situation here. Only I suffer from a heart arrhythmia. I have a brother though who is turning 18 in a week.

In the past week or so, this website literally looks like a timeline lead up to a major war. Things are going from bad to absolutely abysmal.
