But really, shouldn't Kim be more focused on keeping his country from imploding rather than launching missiles? Oh wait I forgot he doesn't care. Although, the 400 klik measurement is disturbing... it means they're getting better at building missiles. Still not nearly good enough to penetrate any decent missile shield, but better than before.
Thing is - who knows what range they were actually testing. They could have been testing the first rocket to a distance of a couple of KMs so they could visually observe it, and they could have tested the second at 400km to test its medium range capabilities.

The second one could have even been shot down.

Do we know where/when these missiles were built and who built them?
Is DPRK building them or did they purchase them from Russia?

Also, I wonder if they have been sabotaged...
Stuxnet anyone?

That makes the situation much more ominous...

Aegis-equipped ships operate in that area. If the missile was about to cross into Japanese airspace, it would not surprise me if those ships shot it down before it could get anywhere. That being said, North Korea currently doesn't have the capability to launch any more than 2-3 of these missile class at once; this means they're easy targets for Aegis. That still doesn't change the fact that the possibility of this occurring now is real, and not simply a North Korean pipe-dream.

The reality is that if the missiles flew, the test WAS a success for them. It's the best they have done so far. Don't ever think that they won't get better - that's dangerous!!

Can't speak to the bunkers thing, but that wouldn't surprise me. Also, this: https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-of ... orth-korea

The thing that worries me is what is South Korea's response. This could quickly spiral out of control if either actor has a single misstep.
