Both Russian pilots shot dead while parachuting down says Dogan News Agency citing Turkmen opposition commander
We know that one is alive, but if they were being shot at while parachuting, a war crime was committed against Russia.

Russia is asking citizens to leave Turkey out of 'deteriorating political climate"
If that's not ominous I don't know what is.

I swear... this was the last thing I wanted to hear when I got back from swimming this morning...

Well, gotta say... When I was going to school everything seemed fine until our headmaster told us that Turkey pulled this shit out...

Well guys... I can't see this kind of thing becoming World War 3, but still very dangerous event nonetheless.

There are reports of both pilots being dead, which is to say the least huge problem... Russians don't take such things lightly.

We'll see how it develops, though... I guess later today we may see Ryan or DWS statement on that?...

Reports I've seen mention it was taken down by rebels with a US made TOW AT missile.

Geopolitics aside, how plausible is that, technically?
Update: IF this this video is of this incident, it was landed when they took it out, so perfectly plausible.
I can't ID specific AT missile systems, but it was tripod mounted, wire guided i think, and the instructions are in english...

TOW-II. probably air dropped to the rebels during the supply drops out of lakenheath last month.
According to Rueters the helicopter was indeed hit by a TOW missile but managed to land.
Syrian fighters fired at a Russian helicopter forcing it to make an emergency landing in a nearby government-held area in Syria's Latakia province on Tuesday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
