Warplane Crashes in Syria near Turkish Border

First Kremlin response is:
"A very serious incident"
This is a well balanced statement and about the best response that could have been hoped for.
No words like "outrageous or dire" which demonstrates they aren't about to jump in with both feet hopefully.

Taking a nap.
Hoping to wake up to some form of normalcy.
In all seriousness though Turkey needs to be removed from NATO. We are supposed to be fighting IS and IS backers/supporters, this is really becoming such a farce, especially after that football Allahu Akbar stunt for the Parisian moment of silence. They are scum for their actions and the majority of them support extreme forms and/or movements of Sunni Islam incl. Islamic State. In the consideration that they support enemies which strike other NATO states they simply do not belong in NATO. Period.

On vacation in Asia, but couldn't help myself to check if anything happened -- and this?! Wonderful...
Like many, I'm hardly surprised but still quite disappointed. I completely agree Turkey needs a serious attitude adjustment, as they are a huge liability in this conflict.
The fact that Turkey continues to help ISIS rather than combat them while remaining "fully committed" to NATO allies is a complete farce. A dreadful attacks occurs in Paris and several alerts throughout the EU and Germany, yet Turkey still acts as a safe haven for ISIS to cross over into.
I'm starting to think Turkey will be the hotspot for WWIII because NATO refuses to do anything about their contradictory stance, yet continues to use them as a quasi forward operating base. Russia can only take this so long and it seems that timeline is just about to get shortened.
Will be interesting to see what follows. All I can say is *if* it was rebels given AA by the US, it's going to go sour in a real hurry.

This is just unknown territory...Not even in the Cold War did this happen.Oswald wrote:Its a little early for that, though the results of the meeting may compel a defcon change.jjjppp11 wrote:bevans13 wrote:NATO to hold meeting at 9am Eastern Standard or 5 pm Central European Time.
