KSA could have the best air defense network in the world and it wouldn't matter if it were manned by Saudi soldiers. It reminds me of this article:

Yes I understand your point, but the tech would be mostly autonomous nowadays wrt detecting and tracking targets that enter the airspace covered. And this data would be stored for some time for later analysis if required. As well there are British and US naval vessels with modern radar airspace surveillance. If Iran could send drones and missiles across the Persian Gulf without detection with all the radar resources available there, then radar tech has gone backwards from when I worked with radars in the 60s.
Any radar system is an expensive piece of garbage if the people manning it were slacking off or didn’t think it was a big deal. I bet when you worked with radar before, you worked with professionals who took it seriously.

I suspect there are logged detections in a database somewhere, and that someone somewhere is going to be held accountable for it, but I doubt publically.

Perhaps Encyclopath, we will now wait and see what the result of the investigations of the US military are, and if they deem Iran is guilty, what are the consequences....

President Emmanuel Macron said France, in response to a Saudi request, will send experts to probe the drone attacks on the Saudi Aramco facilities.
"In response to a Saudi request, President Macron confirmed to the crown prince that France will send experts to Saudi Arabia to take part in investigations aimed at revealing the origin and modalities of the attacks," it added.

Saudi Arabia said it would join a US-led coalition to secure the Middle East's waterways after the attack on its oil fields.

Iran's retaliation to any military attack will not be "limited to its source," Tehran said in an official note to Washington, Iran's semi-official ISNA news agency reported on Wednesday.

"In an official note to the United States via Swiss embassy, Iran has reiterated that it was not behind attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil facilities and it has warned that any move by America against Iran will get immediate reaction," ISNA reported.

Interesting theory on why none of the drones or cruise missiles were shot down.

Trump says he's ordering new sanctions on Iran
By Kevin Liptak, CNN

Updated at 9:11 AM ET, Wed September 18, 2019

Washington (CNN) — President Donald Trump said Wednesday he's ordered new sanctions on Iran, the latest escalation in tensions between the two countries following the attack over the weekend on Saudi oil facilities.
"I have just instructed the Secretary of the Treasury to substantially increase Sanctions on the country of Iran!" Trump wrote on Twitter. It wasn't immediately clear to whom the sanctions would apply.
Trump has yet to definitively state that Iran was behind the attack on the Saudi oil facilities, but others in his administration have pinned blame on Tehran, which has denied involvement.
White House, Treasury and State Department spokespeople did not immediately provide clarity on the new sanctions.
