Poland will build an artificial island in the Kaliningrad Bay to ensure security in the region, reports the Polish edition of Onet, referring to the tender documentation of government agencies.
The island will appear in the territorial waters of Poland, for its creation they use the soil that they will receive during the construction of the navigable canal through the Baltic Spit.It is reported that the island will be erected at a height of 2-3 meters above sea level, it will have an ellipse shape with a length of about two kilometers and a width of about one.
According to the publication, the object will not be used for tourist purposes. Its construction is estimated at 880 million PLN (about 16 billion rubles. - Ed.)

The island will be built as part of a waterway construction program connecting the Gulf of Kaliningrad with the Gdansk Bay. This program aims to ensure the security of the country and its defense capabilities in the region.
