Top South Korean and U.S. military officers agreed Sunday to take military measures against North Korea for its latest nuclear test.

In a phone call with Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), his South Korean counterpart Gen. Jeong Kyeong-doo stressed the need for "effective military responses" to the provocation aimed at demonstrating the allies' force and resolve, according to Jeong's office.

:o OMG!

Should this thread be combined with the one about NK conducting the nuclear test or maybe lock the this one since the nuke test is the major issue currently at hand?

South Korea's military warned Sunday that it's preparing for strong measures in response to North Korea's sixth nuclear test.

South Korea and the U.S. have the "adequate capability" to retaliate against the North's .
provocation, as the two sides are coordinating with each other more closely than any other time, the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said in a statement.

According to the KCNA report, North Korea's Nuclear Weapons Institute has created a “more developed nuke,” bringing about a “signal turn” in the country’s nuclear arsenal
Scientists “further upgraded its technical performance at a higher ultra-modern level on the basis of precious successes made in the first H-bomb test,” KCNA said, boasting about the progress of the domestic weapons program.
“The Nuclear Weapons Research Institute has recently achieved a higher level of research and production of nuclear weapons,” in accordance with the country’s strategic plan of nuclear weaponization, KCNA said.
“Our hydrogen fuel, which can be arbitrarily adjusted from tens of to hundreds of kilotons depending on the target of the nuclear strike, not only exerts enormous destructive power,” but can also explode at a high altitude, producing a “super powerful EMP [electromagnetic pulse] against a vast region,” it said.
“It is a multifunctional thermonuclear combat unit,” KCNA said, adding that all of its elements are “100% localized and all processes necessary for the production of nuclear weapons are integrated.”

and now? even more sanctions? This is just ridiculous.
I see 2 optons. 1. Attack 2. Live with nuclear North Korea!

Option 1 is sounding more likely at the present moment.

Exactly. There a no more other options left right now. Sanctions are absolutely useless. Its like trying to extinguish a burning building with a water pistol.
Personally I would call for an attack because basing on North Koreas behaviour you can't fully trust them to use their nukes only as a deterrence. With all their propaganda and threats of nuclear strikes against other countries I see the danger of nuclear blackmailing by NK. So yes, Trump should stop talking big words and prepare for war. I always oppose this option untill there is nothing else left. But I believe we have just reached that point. North Korea gives a fuck about China, about Trump and especially about the international community. Otherwise accept a nuclear armed North Korea.

No , it won't be NK that will give you the gift that keeps on giving .

What is the alternative? Let North Korea go? Allow them to shoot missiles over other countries, threaten other countries with nukes and blackmailing them? And in the end Japan and South Korea will almost certainly obtain their own atomic weapons which means a nuclear arms rase in east asia. Do you really think that in the end this alternative won't result in a much bloodier war than option 1?

And would it be safe to assume that NK is doing everything just for scare tactics and as a deterrence so everyone else will simply leave them alone? And that they'll just go on and leave other countries completely alone? I don't think it's very safe to assume all that.
