In the event of a war, aside from Israel obviously, wouldn’t most of the Sunni Middle East jump at the chance to topple Iran as well? They aren’t exactly in a position of strength with this threat, most of the region hates them.

Liberating Mosul will be a big morale boost for the forces opposing ISIS, and from a logistical standpoint it will push ISIS to basically only being able to effectively project control over parts of Syria. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if ISIS razes the city before they let the Iraqi troo...
