"Defense Secretary Jim Mattis boarded a plane for Brussels to meet with NATO allies ... en route to his first meeting with NATO allies in Europe. Mattis spoke onboard the E4B, also known as the Doomsday plane for its ability to communicate and remain airborne in the event of a nuclear war. Fox News is traveling with the secretary to the NATO meeting."

"The E-4B also serves as the Secretary of Defense's preferred means of transportation when traveling outside the U.S"

Interesting that there's an E-6B Mercury crossing the Atlantic as a WC-135C arrived at RAF Mildenhall Earlier... Updates to follow !

Disconcerting if accurate, but I'm unable to verify this. Appears exclusive to @usaircraftspots and there was no supporting evidence in the tweet. Mildenhall would however be a logical base to position the WC-135 given Mildenhall's RC-135 mission and proximity to eastern Europe. In the event of a Nucflash, one would wish to assess that incident as rapidly as possible, and with confidence. WC-135 positioned near eastern Europe is then advantageous. Could be that the likelihood of a nuclear event between Russia and NATO has been recently assessed to be higher. However, as I remarked earlier, I see nothing to confirm the rebase.

Very well. That's very interesting then. The probability of a Nucflash between NATO and Russia appears to have slightly increased. Russia's behavior has also been suggestive of this assessment, given the increase in strategic missile forces drills, as well as NBC drills, the general increase in tension, and other factors.

It may be connected, but it isn't necessarily. See my remark in that thread, for example.
